Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Clinical Audit Compass is a digital platform designed to help clinicians capture audits, reflections, learning, clinical logs, and CPD from real clinical work. It replaces fragmented notes and paperwork with a structured, professional system that supports appraisal, revalidation, and clinical governance.

Clinical Audit Compass is designed for UK healthcare professionals, including ambulance technicians, paramedics, nurses, advanced clinical practitioners, midwives, doctors, consultants, and students. It supports clinicians working across pre-hospital, hospital, community, primary care, and specialist settings.

Entries are structured to align with professional expectations and scopes of practice. Audits, reflections, learning events, and CPD can be exported as clear, professional evidence suitable for appraisal, revalidation, and portfolio review.

You can record:

  • Clinical audits
  • Reflections and learning events
  • CPD activity
  • Clinical logs
  • Quality improvement and governance activity.

All entries are structured, searchable, and stored in one place.

Clinical Audit Compass uses a flexible tagging system across clinical logs and CPD. Tags allow you to group activity by theme, competency, specialty, learning outcome, or area of practice, making it easier to review patterns, demonstrate progression, and retrieve evidence when needed.

Yes. The platform supports clinicians who work across multiple roles or scopes of practice, such as clinical care, education, leadership, or specialist roles. Tags and structured entries help you clearly organise and evidence each area of work.

If your professional role changes (for example, qualifying, changing profession, or moving into advanced or consultant practice), you’ll need to notify the Clinical Audit Compass team.

Once confirmed, we’ll update your professional role on the system. From that point onwards, all new activity will be mapped to your new role and scope of practice, while your previous records remain intact and preserved under your former role.

For governance, accuracy, and regulatory alignment, professional roles cannot be self-edited within the app.
